Limit Hold'em

The same cards as No Limit Hold'em, but every bet is a set size, so nobody can put you all in with one push.

Same deal as No Limit Hold'em

Two cards each, face down. Then the flop, the turn and the river, with a round of betting after each. You make the best five-card hand from your two cards and the five on the board. If you can play No Limit Hold'em, you already know the deal.

Your cards
  • King of spades
  • Queen of spades
The board
  • Jack of spades
  • Ten of diamonds
  • Four of clubs
  • Nine of hearts
  • Two of spades

Small bets, then big bets

A limit game has two sizes, written like $10/$20. Early in the hand you bet the small size; later you bet the big one. The blinds come from the small size: in a $10/$20 game the big blind is usually $10 and the small blind $5.

Preflop and flop
Bets and raises are $10, the small bet.
Turn and river
Bets and raises are $20, the big bet.

Every bet and raise is one fixed size. Only four bets go in each round: a bet, a raise, a re-raise and the cap. After the cap, players can only call or fold. Many rooms remove the cap when only two players are left in the hand.
